Customer received back dated payment of £6,500

A Wellingborough Homes customer will be able to see his family for the first time in 3 years over Christmas after being awarded with over £6,000 of back dated payments.

Debt and Benefit Advisor, Dave Small, met with a customer who is registered blind and needed advice to raise funds so he can pay for a flight to visit his family.

After looking into the customer’s history, he noticed that the customer hadn’t been receiving Severe Disability Premium (SDP) and that he had been entitled since 2016.  This led to the customer being awarded a back dated payment of £6,500, plus an extra £64.30 a week.

“It is a great feeling to be able to use the money to visit my family.” – A quote from the happy customer.

Did you know there are billions of pounds a year that are unclaimed in benefits?

To qualify for Severe Disability Premium (SDP)

  •  No-one is receiving carers allowance for looking after you
