As part of a double celebration, Wellingborough Homes helped residents get into the festive spirit as it marked its second birthday in December.

The housing association, which owns and manages more than 4,700 homes across Wellingborough and the surrounding areas, was launched two years ago after tenants of The Borough Council of Wellingborough voted to transfer their homes to a new not-for-profit landlord.

Dave Willis, chief executive of Wellingborough Homes, said: “We’re delighted to mark our second anniversary and look back on all we’ve achieved in a relatively short space of time.

“Since we started Wellingborough Homes we have been clear that tenants’ needs should be at the heart of what we do. Tenants are involved throughout the organisation and events like the Christmas festivities are a simple way to give something to the local community.

“We are focused on delivering everything we promised for the first five years of our life as well as building a brighter long-term future for Wellingborough and the surrounding areas. But we can’t do this in isolation.

“Partnerships with councils, other housing associations, community groups, contractors, developers, funders, local voluntary agencies – and of course our tenants – are key to helping us achieve our aims.”
