Making a statement - Equality, diversity and fairness
Wellingborough Homes has launched its Diversity Statement 2012 , showing how we respect and cater for people’s differences in all our work.
The statement explains how equality and diversity fit into and support our vision to create better places to live through quality, well-maintained homes and improved services. It sets out how we promote fairness both as an employer and a provider of homes, housing and community services.
The statement covers the new duties in the Equality Act 2010 to:
- eliminate unlawful discrimination
- advance equality of opportunity
- foster good relations between people from different groups.
Equality, diversity and fairness are good for our business and good for our customers, staff, stakeholders and partners. They are crucial to our role as a leader for community wellbeing.
We will publish details of our performance on equality and diversity in our annual reports to residents and update the statement at least every three years.
